The San Mateo County Community Colleges School District’s Financial Aid Offices would like to know your understanding on the following questions:

The "grace period" for a federal student loan begins in six months after graduation OR six months after a student drops below half-time status.*
You have up to 14 days after the date your loan was disbursed to cancel all or part of your loan and have the funds returned by the college to the U.S. Department of Education. *
What is the legal document where you promise to repay your loan(s) and any accrued interest and fees to the U.S. Department of Education. It also explains the terms and conditions of your loan(s). *

By signing this form you understand the following:

  1. All First time Borrowers will be subject to 30 day delay on their first loan disbursement.
  2. The 30 day period begins on the first day of the term, not from the loan application or loan approval date.
  3. All one term loans will be disbursed in two installments.
  4. All loans will not be disbursed to students before the first day of classes.
